I am Dr. Sarah Schumacher, a dedicated internal medicine physician with a passion for metabolic and preventative health. My approach to patient care is holistic, focusing on both the physical and emotional well-being of my patients. I entered the field of medicine to make a meaningful impact on people's lives, and I am committed to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to all my patients.

Biographical Info

Dr. Sarah Schumacher graduated from residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with minors in Business and Psychology from The University of Alabama, followed by her Medical Doctorate from Georgetown University School of Medicine. Dr. Schumacher's clinical expertise lies in cardiovascular and preventative health, with a particular focus on improving patient outcomes through innovative care practices.

Throughout her career, Dr. Schumacher has been engaged in research, focusing on subclinical atherosclerosis and complex cardiometabolic conditions. Her expert opinion piece on cardiovascular health in young adults was recognized by the American College of Cardiology as the editor's pick.

In addition to her research, Dr. Schumacher is dedicated to nutrition and has worked in teaching kitchens. She presented her innovative work on this topic at the inaugural Conference for the Integrated Center for Group Medical Visits. In addition to her clinical and research endeavors, Dr. Schumacher is passionate about medical education. She has led initiatives to enhance medical student evaluations and has presented her findings at national conferences. Her dedication to teaching and mentoring the next generation of physicians is evident through her many roles of mentorship of medical residents and students. Dr. Schumacher is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Medical Women's Association, the American College of Physicians, and the American College of Lifestyle Medicine.
