About Rateb Fouad, M.D.
I am an internal medicine physician with a special interest in point-of-care ultrasound. I strive to build deep, trusting relationships with my patients by delivering compassionate, evidence-based care. I value teamwork and strong communication, and I believe that a positive, collaborative environment with colleagues, patients, and their families is key to achieving the best outcomes. It is a true honor to be entrusted with my patients’ care throughout their health journey, and I view each individual experience as a meaningful contribution to my pursuit of continual growth and lifelong learning.
Dr. Rateb Fouad is a Hospitalist and Instructor in Medicine, currently enrolled in specialized training in Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill ÂÜÀòÉçÆƽâ°æ Medical Center. - He earned his medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland – Bahrain. Following graduation, Dr. Fouad joined the Canadian Red Cross, where he served as a Public Health Lead in the province of Ontario during the COVID-19 pandemic. He led response efforts to contain and mitigate outbreaks across vulnerable and Indigenous communities. His team’s work received national recognition, garnering additional support and resources to expand their reach and impact.
Dr. Fouad later completed his internal medicine residency at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, NY. Committed to physician well-being, he also served as a core member of the Resident Wellness Committee. In recognition of his contributions, he was honored with the Resident of the Year award. Currently pursuing fellowship training in POCUS, Dr. Fouad is focused on advancing his ultrasound and procedural proficiency. Beyond the confines of the hospital, he plans to integrate these skills into future humanitarian efforts—a longstanding calling that predates his medical journey.
