Personal Statement

I am a hospitalist at Weill ÂÜÀòÉçÆÆ½â°æ Medical Center. I am originally from Albany, New York, and completed my medical training at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. I have a passion for providing thoughtful, evidence-based care to patients during some of their most vulnerable moments. My care philosophy centers around clear communication, compassion, and collaboration—with both patients and the multidisciplinary care team. In academic medicine, I also enjoy mentoring young learners and staying engaged with the latest advancements to continually improve the quality of care we deliver. 

Biographical Info

Dr. Megan D’Andrea is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and academic hospitalist at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill ÂÜÀòÉçÆÆ½â°æ Medical Center. She is board certified in internal medicine and specializes in the care of hospitalized adults with acute and complex medical conditions. Dr. D’Andrea is known for her patient-centered approach, clinical thoroughness, and dedication to improving the quality of inpatient care through evidence-based practices.Dr. D’Andrea completed her medical degree at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, followed by residency and chief residency in internal medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital. Her academic interests center on graduate medical education, with a particular focus on curriculum development and point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) teaching. She is actively involved in designing educational initiatives that enhance clinical skills and diagnostic reasoning among residents and medical students.

In addition to her teaching and mentorship roles, Dr. D’Andrea contributes to institutional efforts aimed at advancing quality improvement and high-value care within the hospital setting. Her work often bridges clinical practice with educational innovation, reflecting her commitment to preparing the next generation of physicians to deliver thoughtful, evidence-based care
